Title:  Hartford, Hereford, And Hampshire Show Release Date:  April 12, 2023 Blog Written:  April 11, 2023 Albums Covered: Carole King - Tapestry Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Amy Winhouse - Back to Black Aretha Franklin - Amazing Grace Hello everyone, and this will be the first time a blog is posted at the same time as a show.  So, it may require editing, updates, or just some good old fashioned fixing at a later date. The good news, is that the editing is still fresh in my mind as I have just completed it and made my notes to what I want to say here.  There are more references and uses of songs that need to be addressed, and a lot has changed since the third show that I last posted about on this site.  But, follow us on Instagram and you will find out when we post about the older shows. So, this is possibly the 43rd show we have recorded, and that includes any of our holiday specials or any other odd thing we did.  By the time I update the shows betwixt the third and

Title: The Frank And Punch Show Show Release Date: April 28, 2021 Blog Written: February 28, 2023 Albums Covered: Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours Boogie Down Productions - Criminal Minded John Mayer - Continuum AC/DC - Back in Black Fleetwood Mac - Rumours We are officially Musical Shenanigans.   Your big question is how much effort, research, committee formation, surveys, and subcommittees went into the development of this title, and the answer is none of the above.  I found the Buzzsprout website where we could host the first two shows that were recorded and I was in the midst of editing the third show when I needed to create a name for the site.  I just threw out the two words, validated that they were not in use anywhere else in the podcast world (PodSphere? PodVerse?), and sometime before we recorded this show, I floated the name out, and everyone seemed agreeable.  And that is about it.  I know, it's not real sexy.  Sorry. So let's dive into the show. Admittedly, t

Title: The Supreme Yellow Brick Moon Edition Show Release Date: April 28, 2021 Blog Written: February 22, 2023 Albums Covered: Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out Al Green - Greatest Hits Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville Run-DMC - Raising Hell Welcome aboard, Dave!!! At the start of the show, I ask Dave if he likes music and if he plays music, which is a callback to an interview I did of Scott.  It was one of those little things I was trying out, and if I wanted to be an interviewer, I have a long way to go. The show really has no name here, and at the time of recording, it did not have a home either.  You may notice that the first three shows all release on the same day.  There was not some long marathon weekend of recording, there was just a period when I needed to find a place to put these recordings. For a short time, I was trying to create my own site for them all, through that whole WQRZ thing, but going into this show, I dropped that pretext all together.  This show was going to be its own

Title: The Supreme Yellow Brick Moon Edition Show Release Date: April 28, 2021 Blog Written: February 2, 2023 Albums Covered: Diana Ross and The Supremes - Anthology Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon I want to be embarrassed by this show, but there are some rather good takeaways.  The sound is not horrible as I would have thought, although once I introduce the third person, the mixes get a little rougher.  Dave is not here (insert your own Cheech and Chong joke), and this is really the start of what would become Musical Shenanigans. The whole WQRZ thing dates back to 2020 when I was hosting a "radio station" over Teams at work.  We had all been home for longer than the planned two weeks after Friday March, 13, 2020 when the world shut down (and most of us are still working remotely).  I got bored and started playing around with Audacity, mixing in songs, and doing something of a morning show, hence the Cory in the Morning moniker that h
